HANDS-ON CURRICULUM

We offer a wide range of bespoke experimental outdoor learning opportunities to bring subjects to life in a broad and balanced way. Nature is an amazing ‘classroom’ and offers a freedom and sense of adventure that we all benefit from and can improve attainment, increase meaningful engagement, and encourages problem solving, communication and resilience.

Curriculum subjects can be brought to life outside the classroom both in school grounds and in the local areas offering pupils the opportunity to gain first-hand, practical experience of the natural world.

Curriculum topics covered include Citizenship, Humanities, Art & Design, Science, Literacy & Numeracy as well as encouraging physical activity.

Explore, Appreciate and Learn at the beautiful Wilderness Wood – An immersive outdoor programme of experiential learning activities.

Our Schools Without Walls programme of activities will strengthen access, connection and confidence in the outdoors and develop an appreciation and respect for nature and all that is living and promote an understanding of how we can look after our environment.

Schools Without Walls activities are designed to develop self-awareness, creativity, team working and respect and benefits both physical and mental health wellbeing.
