Home Ed Wednesdays at Gateshead Riverside Park
Our brand new Home Ed Wednesdays at Gateshead Riverside Park running every Wednesday, in term time, 10 am -2 pm. Home Ed Wednesdays is one of our clubs for children and young people accessing Home Education and Flexi-Schooling. These sessions are for children and young people aged 5-16 (without their grown ups), designed to support your child’s development, resilience, wellbeing, and communication.
Participants will develop new skills in fire lighting, woodland crafts, tool use and woodland management. They will become part of a new community of learners, forging new friendships and supporting each other to learn. They will gain new knowledge and understanding about the natural world. We do not follow a curriculum, we follow the child’s natural thirst for learning, based in our Gateshead Riverside Park woodland, in sight of the River Tyne, a natural oasis amongst the Gateshead and Newcastle cityscape, as an inspiring backdrop for their development..
The sessions are intended as an ‘alternative to school’, so parents will not be expected to stay with their children. We often find that children who have struggled in the classroom thrive in an outdoor child centred setting, however, we cannot offer 1-1 support so if your child has specific additional needs please get in touch before you book.
Each session will start at 10 am, with a walk to the site. We will take part in group and individual activities, and each session will be planned based on the observations of each child the previous week. Preparing and eating food together is a key part of our Forest School delivery but you may also wish to send your child with a packed lunch, along with drinking water and snacks, which they will be able to access at any point through the day. Collection is at 2 pm prompt.
These sessions are £35 per session and are paid for half termly.

Home Ed Fridays in Prudhoe
Our Home Ed Fridays session is aimed at young people (without their grown ups) who are Home Educated or Flexi-Schooled. The club is designed to support your child’s development, resilience, wellbeing and communication.
Every Friday during term time from 9.30 am-2.30 pm
